The Next Chapter in A Year of Seasons
Summer Peace is the second piece in my A Year of Seasons collection, and it carries a very different kind of quiet than spring. Where Spring Discovering is full of soft curiosity and new beginnings, Summer Peace settles into a warm, unhurried stillness. The kind of moment where the world feels slow, golden, and safe.
In this piece, a woman and her fox companion rest together in the gentle heat of a summer afternoon. You can almost smell the ocean air drifting in...that clean, salty sweetness that settles into your lungs and makes you breathe a little deeper. A soft breeze moves across the scene, brushing against her skin and lifting the edges of her hair, carrying with it the hush of waves rolling in and out. The sun warms her shoulders, that comforting, sleepy warmth that makes everything feel softer and more peaceful.
Nothing urgent is happening. Nothing needs to be solved. It’s simply a shared pause — a breath — wrapped in sunlight and sea air. I wanted this artwork to feel like the hush that comes after a long day, when the breeze cools the world and the ocean keeps its steady rhythm in the background.
This painting continues the journey through the seasons, exploring how small, tender moments can shape the rhythm of a year. Each piece in the collection stands on its own, but together they create a quiet story about companionship, presence, and the beauty found in everyday stillness.
Summer Peace is a reminder to slow down, to rest, and to let yourself be held by the warmth and breath of the season.
